Play Bingo to raise money for music
Mountlake Terrace High School is scheduled to have a Bingo game night from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 7 at Great Hall at 6002 168th St. SW. The event is open to the community. All-night playing cards are $5, pizza and pop will be sold separately and prizes will be available. Funds raised at the event will go to the Music Boosters club to help provide funding for new equipment, new music, and financial support to music students for workshops and competitions.
Lynnwood choir open for auditions
The Lynnwood location of the Columbia Children’s Choir are now taking interview appointments for boys and girls in grades one through eight who are interested in being prospective members. Interviews will be conducted through December. Students need to demonstrate ability to concentrate and carry a tune by singing “Happy Birthday” or “My Country ‘tis of Thee” or another song of their own choosing. No experience is required. New members will join the choir in January and singers will be divided into several choirs according to age and musical ability. Practices are once weekly after school in Lynnwood. EdCC Brown Bag lecture scheduled
Edmonds Community College will have a Brown Bag Lecture from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22 in the Triton Union Building 202 on campus. The event will feature Ines Talamantez, Mescalero Apache, a senior fellow at the Center for the Study of World Religions at Harvard University. Talamantez will explore Native American religious studies and colonization and decolonization.
