Award goes to Cascadia CC

Cascadia Community College was recently named as one of 12 recipients of the 2003 PBS-O’Banion Prize.

This award recognizes Cascadia’s commitment to education that is focused on learners and their success, officials said.

An international feast at EvCC

Everett Community College will be hosting a celebration of international cuisine from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Monday, June 2 on the Parks Student Union Plaza. Paella, a traditional Spanish dish, will be served from noon to 1 p.m. and Flamenco dancing performances will start at 1 p.m. Paella preparation begins at 10 a.m.

Computer classes at Everett CC

Everett Community College is offering free computer classes designed for “absolute beginners” to interested adults to learn the basics of home computing. The program will cover setup, the basics in Microsoft Word, word processing, basics of the Internet, and simple spreadsheets.

Classes are held at the Everett Station, 3201 Smith Avenue, Room 411, in downtown Everett.

Classes will be from 10 a.m. to noon June 14 and 28.

HS grad party donations needed

To raise money to support the Jackson High School Class of 2006 All-Night Graduation Party, the JHS Parent Class of 2006 Committee is asking for donations.

The graduation party is an adult-supervised function for Jackson High School seniors only, and ensures a safe, substance-free celebration after graduation.
