UWB students legislative interns

Three University of Washington-Bothell students have recently been named as Legislative Interns for the 2003 session. They are Suzanne Arechavala, Colleen Cullen, and Kurt Meacham.

Arechavala, a senior Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences (IAS) major, with a concentration in Science Technology and the Environment, will be in the House of Representatives.

Cullen, an IAS major with a concentration in Society Ethics and Human Behavior, and Meacham, an IAS major, with a concentration in Global Studies, will both be in the Senate.

The UW Bothell students were among 58 successful candidates selected from 125 applicants. The applicants represented six public and six private Washington State colleges and universities.

Artist talk, tour

at UW Bothell

The University of Washington-Bothell and Cascadia Community College are sponsoring a slide talk and tour of recently installed paintings by Port Townsend artist Stephen Yates at 1:30 p.m. on January 16 in room 205 of the UWB library.

Yates has lived in the Port Townsend area for over 20 years and has exhibited his artwork widely.

The talk will be about his recent artwork and the tour will be an opportunity to see and discuss the 10 paintings, which make up the commission for the UWB-CCC library.

The public is invited. Parking is $1.

EvCC presents DonPasquale

On Monday, Jan. 13 at 7:30 p.m., local artists Alicia Likkel and Michael (Misha) Myznikov of the Seattle Opera chorus will present Don Pasquale. They will be hosted by vocal music instructor Kathleen Goff, who will tell the story of the opera.

The event will be held at Everett Community College in Baker Hall Room 120. Suggested donation is $8 adults/$5 students and seniors.
