Smilemobile provides dental care for children
The Smilemobile will be on site at Cedar Valley Community School Nov. 5-16 for children needing dental care.
The Smilemobile is a mobile dental van that serves low-income children from preschool-aged to 14 years old.
The registration appointments, available all day Nov. 5-6 and the morning of Nov. 7, take 15-30 minutes. The dentist evaluates what work is needed and an appointment is made for that work over the following days. There is no charge for the registration appointment. The Smilemobile accepts state Medicaid coupons and provides very low or no fees on a sliding scale to families without insurance.
Make an appointment by calling Cedar Valley Community School’s Main Office at 425-431-7390. Cedar Valley is at 19200 56th Ave. W. in Lynnwood and is in the Edmonds School District.
SAT prep course offered at MDHS
The registration deadline to sign up for an SAT Prep Course to be offered at Meadowdale High School is Oct. 23.
The course is offered twice during the school year and is the only course offered at an Edmonds School District school. Course A begins Oct. 29 and ends Nov. 29. Course B begins March 11 and ends April 24.
Participants do not need to be a student at Meadowdale to enroll.
The course is also a fundraiser for Meadowdale’s Music Boosters Club.
The 16-hour course familiarizes students with test directions, types of questions and test-taking strategies and works to increase students’ confidence and help them develop skills and a positive attitude to become better test-takers.
SAT Prep course information is available online at www.SATPrep.org or by phone at 425 823-1370.
The course fee is $272. Register online at www.SATPrep.org.

District newsletter coming in mail
The Fall 2007 Edmonds School District News will be in the mailboxes of all district residents and businesses beginning this week. An electronic version of the newsletter is available online at the district’s web site, www.edmonds.wednet.edu.
Nearly 70 percent of the individuals living in the district do not or no longer have school-age children. The newsletter is a way of keeping citizens connected to the teaching, learning and the efforts going on across the district, according to a press release.
