Students at Cedar Valley Community School got to show off their knowledge of dental health during a visit by Seattle Seahawks rookie wide receiver Deon Butler, television personality Tony Ventrella and two Sea Gals cheerleaders.

The students gathered in the school gym to hear a presentation on oral hygiene Dec. 1 presented by the Seahawks and the Washington Dental Service.

The advice given by Grant, Ventrella and the Sea Gals included the following nuggets:

– Brush your teeth twice a day and every time after you eat sweets.

– Floss once a day.

– Brush teeth in an up-and-down, side-to-side and circular motion.

– Eat healthy snacks such as fruits and vegetables.

The Washington Dental Service’s Smilemobile was on the Cedar Valley campus from Nov. 30 to Dec. 4 with dentists on site to give exams and perform dental work. More than 50 students were served by the Smilemobile staff.
