The annual Seattle Auto Show is a mecca for lookie-loo car lovers, consumers agonizing over which vehicle to choose from among the dizzying selection now available, and anyone seeking to stave-off seasonal affective disorder.
Step in out of the rain and cold and take in the bright sparkle of hundreds of buffed and polished new 2005 vehicles inside Qwest Field Event Center.
The Auto Show is our one opportunity during the year to see all the new makes and models, from tiny two-seat roadsters to monster pickups, all in one warm, dry, covered place at one time.
Model year 2005 brings some of the coolest cars ever, like the big and bad Dodge Magnum, the small and sporty Scion tC coupe, Chevys new premium compact Cobalt, and Fords Five Hundred sedan.
On the practical side of the wish list, theres the new Town &Country minivan from Chrysler with its Stow n Go seating system, and the redesigned Toyota Tacoma Double Cab pickup, available in 18 different configurations.
The Harold E. LeMay Museum, located in Tacoma, is displaying eight classic vehicles, including a 1937 Cord Beverly 812 four-door sedan the first production car with concealed headlamps.
Corvette, on the other hand, is exposing its headlamps for the first time since 1962. Check out its new look its a highlight of the show.
If the Corvette turns your crank, youll also want to wander in the direction of the Maserati Quattroporte and the Ferrari display.
The Seattle International Auto Show is sponsored by Chase Auto Finance and Chevron Lubricants. Hours are noon to 10 p.m. Wednesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.
Admission is $10 for adults. Children age 12 and younger get in free with paid adult admission. Tickets are available at the event, and can also be purchased online at www.seattleautoshow.com.
Convenient covered parking is available in the Event Center parking garage, at Safeco Field, Union Station and nearby facilities.
Qwest Field Event Center is at 1000 Occidental Ave., at the site of the former Seahawks Exhibition Center.
Showgoers are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Seattle Union Gospel Mission, which cares year-round for homeless men, women and children.
