The Friends of the Mill Creek Senior Program will host a town hall June 25 with candidates running for four positions on the Mill Creek City Council.
The meeting will allow citizens of Mill Creek to hear and meet the candidates. The Friends of the Mill Creek Senior Program will endorse its chosen candidates following the meeting.
Each candidate will be brought into the auditorium separately and will have three minutes to state their position or why they are running for office. Each candidate will be asked the same three questions and will not hear other candidates’ responses.
The meeting will be held from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at the Adopt-a-Stream Foundation auditorium, behind the Greater Mill Creek Senior Program office at McCollum Park, with coffee and cookies to follow.
City awards parade sponsors
Local business owners David and Rani Bal were awarded a limited-edition commemorative coin by Mill Creek Mayor Terry Ryan and Major Weldon Lee for sponsoring the first Mill Creek Parade.
The Bals own a local branch of Signs Now, a company that produces indoor and outdoor signs and graphics for advertising.
Signs Now donated and produced the parade banner and 10 sets of magnetic vehicle graphics that were placed on the sides of each VIP vehicle.
