A level two sex offender has moved to Shoreline and police are notifying neighbors.
The Shoreline Police are holding a community meeting at 6 p.m. on Dec. 3 at Einstein Middle School Activity Center to present information to the public.
Keegan Reinke, 25, lives in the 900 block of N. 200th Street in Shoreline, and was convicted of attempted sexual exploitation of a minor in 2002.
According to court records, Reinke met a female, who he knew was 15 years old, over an Internet chat line and set up a meeting with her for the purpose of having sex and photographing her.
Reinke has served his sentence with the state Department of Corrections and is not wanted by local police at this time.
Shoreline Police and the city of Shoreline have no legal authority to direct or restrict where a sex offender may or may not live, and Reinke is constitutionally free to live wherever he chooses. Federal and state courts have repeatedly struck down local ordinances that restrict where persons may live.
State law requires sex offenders to register their whereabouts with police.
