Shorewood drill/dance competition
The award-winning Shorewood High School Drill Team is hosting its annual Drill and Dance Competition at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6 in the Shorewood High School Gym.
Up to 20 drill and dance teams will compete. Admission is $7 for adults, $5 for seniors and students with ASB card. Children 5 and under are free.
Proceeds go towards offsetting the expenses of participating in the annual state competition held in Yakima, as well as the Victoria Day Parade.
Briarcrest Latin American Festival
On Tuesday, Dec. 9, students in kindergarten through second grade at Briarcrest Elementary will host a Latin American Festival.
The festival will be at the Shorecrest gym. Performance start at 7 p.m. and admission is free. Students will perform songs and dances from a variety of Latin American countries. The performance will be directed by Allen Leslie, Briarcrest music teacher. For more information contact Briarcrest at 206-368-4170.
Shorewood Big Band Dance
The Shorewood High School Jazz Band will host a Big Band Dance at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 13 at Shoreline Community College’s Pagoda Union Building. Tickets are available from Shorewood Jazz Band students and will be available at the door.

Several Shoreline schools have concerts planned in December. The concerts are free and open to the public:
Dec. 3: Shorecrest High School jazz concert, 7:30 p.m. at the school
Dec. 4: Shorewood High School band concert, 7:30 p.m. at the school
Dec. 8: Einstein Middle School and Syre Elementary School choirs perform at 8 p.m., Richmond Beach Saltwater Park
Dec. 10: Einstein/Shorewood joint orchestra concert, 7:30 p.m. at Shorewood High School.
Dec. 15: Combined sixth grade orchestra concert (Highland Terrace, Ridgecrest, Parkwood, Brookside and Briarcrest) at 7:30 at Third Place Commons in Lake Forest Park
Dec. 16: Shorecrest band, orchestra and choir concert, 7:30 p.m. at the school
Dec. 16: Shorewood choir concert, 7:30 p.m. at the school
Dec. 17: Briarcrest Elementary choir, 7 p.m.at Third Place Commons
Dec. 17: Combined sixth grade band concert (Highland Terrace, Ridgecrest, Parkwood, Brookside and Briarcrest) at 7:45 p.m. at Third Place Commons in Lake Forest Park
Dec. 18: Shorecrest orchestra/choir concert, 7:30 p.m. at the school
