The Snohomish County Council recently approved a six-month moratorium on dense residential developemnts in rural areas of the county. The council included moratorium language that will require developers and environmental groups concerned with the promotion of urban sprawl to be kept informed on any related changes. Council members said the moratorium would allow the county to conduct a review of the existing 2005 ordinance allowing up to 6,000 homes on 2,000 acres of rural-zoned land.
