Sons of Norway host ScanFest May 5

The Edmonds Sons of Norway Lodge presents its annual ScanFest 2007, celebrating the life and works of Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg on May 5 at the Masonic Center, 515 Dayton Ave., in Edmonds.

The day begins at 7 a.m. downstairs with a breakfast of Norwegian pancakes, ham, strawberries and coffee. Breakfast is a $6 donation and is served until 1 p.m.

Upstairs from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. the Lodge hosts an arts &crafts fair, music and dance performances, a genealogy display and research assistance, and a bunad show and raffle.

The day concludes with a concert of the piano music of Edvard Grieg (1843-1907) at Trinity Lutheran Church, located at 6215 196th St. SW in Lynnwood. The presentation titled “Folk Song, Folk Dance, Folk Life and Folklore” is presented by Dolores Salas Borgir. Admission is a $10 suggested donation at the door.
