Soroptimist of Sno-King, a volunteer service organization for professional women, has given cash awards to several groups through its Making a Difference for Women program.

Receiving money to continue work in their communities were Teen Hope, Cocoon House, Lynnwood Food Bank, South County Senior Center, Medical Teams International and the Sno-King Hands-On Committee.

The recipient of the Making a Difference for Women award was Marja Brandon, head of the Seattle Girls School. A contribution was made to the Soroptimist Foundation in honor of her dedication to women and girls.

Founded in 1964, Soroptimist of Sno-King is part of Soroptimist International of the Americas. Nearly 100,000 members in 120 countries contribute time and financial support to community-based projects benefiting women and girls.
