EGG HUNTS
Edmonds
The Edmonds Egg Hunt, hosted by the city’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services, will be held at 10 a.m. April 7 at Edmonds City Park, Third Avenue South and Howell Way.
Kids can fill a basket and hunt for golden eggs to win special prizes. Separate age areas: up to 1 year old starts at 10 a.m. on the lower south lawn; ages 2-3 at 10:15 a.m. on the playground; and ages 4-10 at 10 a.m. on the playfield.
Bring your basket and a nonperishable food donation for the food bank.
Lynnwood
The Lynnwood Free Methodist Church hosts a Community Easter Egg Hunt at 2 p.m. April 7. Children ages 1-11 can hunt for more than 3,000 candy-filled eggs, lots of prizes and special grand prize drawings.

Mountlake Terrace
The Nile Shriners clowns invite kids to the annual Easter Egg Hunt at 11 a.m. April 7 at the Nile Shrine Golf Center, 6601 244th St. SW.
Meanwhile, Red Onion Burgers and a host of other sponsors lead off their events with an annual adults-only egg hunt at 8 p.m. April 6 at Evergreen Playfield, 22205 56th Ave. W.
At 10 a.m. April 7, the kids take over, also at the playfield. Kids up to age 11 can hunt for eggs, meet the Easter Bunny, get their faces painted and seek prizes.
Brier
Brier’s Traditional Egg Hunt, for kids ages 3-10, is set for 10 a.m. April 7, at Brier Park, 2903 228th St. SW. Staggered start times by age group. Thousands of eggs will be stuffed with candy and prizes.

Mill Creek
Mill Creek Parks and Recreation’s Eggstravaganza Egg Hunt starts at 10:30 a.m. April 7 at the Heatherwood Middle School football field, 1419 Trillium Blvd. Rain or shine. Kids from 1 year old to fifth grade can enjoy face-painting, balloon animals, music and fun. The Easter Bunny will be there.

You can read it, but can you eat it?
The Mountlake Terrace Library challenges children and adults alike to create a piece of edible art related to books: it can be a pun on a title, refer to a scene or character, look like a book or just have something to do with books. Whatever the inspiration, it must be entirely edible.
Prizes in the Edible Book Contest will be awarded in three age categories.
The fun will commence at 11 a.m. April 14 at the library, 23300 58th Ave. W. Not creating an entry? Arrive later, at noon, for viewing, voting and tasting. Entrants should bring a copy of the book they are honoring.
Be a superhero for St. Jude
OuterEdge Crossfit gym in Mill Creek plans its second annual St. Jude Challenge on April 14. People of all ages and fitness levels are invited to participate in a series of strength and conditioning exercises. Dressing as a superhero is encouraged for the event, but secret identities also are welcome.

Skandia hosts family dance for First Friday
• April 6: At the regular Skandia First Friday Dance, dancing begins at 8 p.m. with the Lilla Spelmanslag; followed by the Gammel Dansk from Vancouver at 8:30 p.m.

Create your own little ecosystem and repurpose glass jars and light bulbs at the same time. Terrariums are transparent enclosures containing small plants. They are easy to care for, decorative and fun. All supplies provided.
