Spectrum’s ‘Fado, Tango & the Blues’ in Shoreline

The Shoreline-Lake Forest Park Arts Council brings romance to its Arts in Culture Series 2004 as it presents Seattle’s Spectrum Dance Theater in the new production, “Fado, Tango &the Blues,” at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14 at the Shorecrest Performing Arts Center.

Fado, a genre of music from Portugal that has a great depth of feeling sets the stage for Tango, the epitome of expressive dance. Donald Byrd, who has recently taken over direction of Spectrum Dance Theater, is known for physically challenging his dancers. His work has a sharper edge than what the troupe has done in the past.
