The Everett Area Chamber of Commerce has named Everett AquaSox owner and president, Mark Sperandio, the Small Business Executive of the Year for 2002.
Sperandio will accept the award at the banquet held by the chamber on Jan. 23.
In addition to winning the Western Division in the Northwest League, the ballclub drew a crowd of more than 110,000 fans.
, making it the fifth consecutive season in which more than 100,000 fans attended an AquaSox game.
Sperandio’s club remained an active participant in the community in 2002 by increasing its spring reading program participants to more than 38,000 students and donating $35,000 to local non-profit organizations.
Sperandio has donated more than $350,000 to local non-profit organizations since he bought the club in October of 1998.
