Shoreline men’s season ends in OT

Shoreline Community College’s men’s soccer team lost 3-2 in overtime to Bellevue Community College Nov. 8 in the first round of the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges playoffs at Bellevue.

Bellevue’s Richard Ramain-Dika scored the winning goal in the second minute of overtime.

Bellevue took a 2-0 lead into halftime with goals by Vyacheslav Denega (assisted by Guillermo Cardenas) and Romain-Dika (assisted by Hailu Gebrekidan).

Shoreline answered in the second half with two goals of its own. Yonathan Carreno scored an unassisted goal and Collin Duff scored on an assist by Sirak Berhe.

Shoreline ends its season 5-10-2.

Shoreline women drop playoff game

The Community Colleges of Spokane defeated the Shoreline Community College women’s soccer team 3-1 Nov. 11 at Shoreline in a NWAACC playoff game.

Spokane’s Katlyn Laughlin (assisted by Heather Wilson) scored in the game’s first minute but Shoreline tied it when Sarah Bingisser scored in the 46th minute (assisted by Stephanie Brossman). Spokane’s Lauren Nay (51st minute, unassisted) and Raeanne Cumbie (59th minute, assisted by Laughlin) added goals to salt it away however.
