Smith to play football at Feather River College

Archbishop Murphy senior Stan Smith plans to play football for Feather River College in Quincy, Calif., this fall.

“I’ll play wherever I have the best chance of succeeding,” said Smith, the Cascade Conference’s 2005 Offensive Player of the Year.

Smith expects to play running back and possibly defense at Feather River.

Smith’s SAT scores were high enough to play for a Division I school but his 2.10 high school grade point average was not. He plans to study psychology or history at Feather River before transferring.
