Hofmann shares ‘Couples’ title

Shorewood’s Alie Hofmann teamed with Bainbridge’s Brooke Nall to win the Couples Classic Dec. 4 at Shorewood High School.

The unique format of the gymnastics meet randomly pairs competitors from different schools, then combines their scores in the four individual events for a “team score.”

Hofmann and Nall tallied 35.2 points to beat out Shorewood’s Kelsey Wright and Bainbridge’s Dana Cuykendall (33.05).

Hofmann scored the highest marks in the vault (8.4) and uneven parallel bars (8.4) and Wright took third in the vault and floor exercise.

Shorewood’s Lauren Piastuch finished second in the vault and teammate Elle MacGeorge took third in the bars. Shorecrest’s Kristina Bendiksen placed third in the balance beam.Dolphins earn all-star honors
