  • Tuesday, May 4, 2010 9:50pm

Jackson earned a decisive 2-0 boys soccer win over Kamiak, scoring goals in each half to pull ahead of Kamiak for second place in the Wesco South, on April 30.

That clinched a 4A District 1 playoff berth for Jackson (5-2 in league, 10-4 overall).

In the 38th minute, Mason Legault (Tye Hastings assist) scored for the Timberwolves, with Brian Lafavour scoring unassisted in the 55th minute. The two goals combined with the shutout from goalie Hayden Addington put a half-game cushion between the two 4A schools vying for the top 4A berth from the Wesco South.

Terrace senior pitcher signs with University of Dayton

Kelsi Seidlitz, a senior at Mountlake Terrace High, signed an NCAA National Letter of Intent with the University of Dayton softball team.

Recruited to be a pitcher, the 5-foot-7 Seidlitz is a Terrace team captain who helped the Hawks place second in 4A last season. She also played for the Rainier Jets 18U Gold select team.

In a signing announcement posted Wednesday on Dayton’s softball website, Dayton coach Cara Clark-LaPlaca said Seidlitz “will bring added depth and balance to our pitching staff. She comes from an elite program and has been competing at a high level of softball for many years. Not only has she had success on the field, she has demonstrated good character and academic success as well.”
