AAU HOOPS: The deadline to register for AAU fall league boys basketball (fourth grade through JV) is Sept. 13. Games start Sept. 25. Cost is $520. Information: visit www.pnaau.org or call 1-800-AAU-4-USA.

BLAZE SOFTBALL: The Blaze ‘91, a 14U “A” fastpitch softball team, is having tryouts from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 14 and Aug. 21 at Edmonds- Woodway High. Information: Randy Seidlitz, 425-487-0053.

SOFTBALL TEAM: A new 18A girls fastpitch softball team, based out of North King and South Snohomish County, is having tryouts from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 13 at Fort Dent Field No. 1. FALL BALL: Maynard’s Fall Ball League for players ages 10-18 features two games per weekend for 6-8 weeks. All teams and players will receive a team shirt and hat, and practice time during the week on field or indoors. Season begins Aug. 22. Information: 425-355-1810.

HOOPS TRYOUTS: BSI is holding tryouts for girls in grades 7-8. Tryouts will be at the Wellness Center at North Seattle Community College gym. Information: 425-744-1860.

BASEBALL TRYOUTS: The South Seattle Black Sox 16U Mickey Mantle team is seeking dedicated ball players for the 2005 season. Tryouts are Aug. 14-15 . Information: Ken, 206-683-7572.

BASEBALL CAMP: The Showcase Baseball camp for boys 15-18 will be Aug. 19-21. The fee is $250 if accepted. Information: 425-355-1810.

COMMUNITY RUN: Registration is underway for the Lynnwood Hi! 5 Community Run set for Aug. 22. The event features a 10K certified run, 5K run, 3K walk and kids dash. No registration is required for the kids dash, which starts at 8:45 a.m. The 10K and 5K runs start at 9 a.m. and are followed by the 3K walk at 9:15. Awards and prizes will be distributed at 10:30 a.m. Registration is $20 or $25 day of the run. Information: visit www.hi5festrun.org or www.active.com.
