MsSTIX SOFTBALL: The MsStix organization is forming a new U-10 girls fastpitch team. Coaches Jeff Head and David Hardy are experienced and dedicated to teaching players the fundamentals and skills they need to play fastpitch. Tryouts are from 2-4 p.m. Aug. 29. BLAZE SOFTBALL: The Blaze ‘91, a 14U “A” fastpitch softball team is having tryouts from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 21 at Edmonds-Woodway High School. Information: Randy Seidlitz, 425-487-0053.

FALL SOFTBALL: Registration for Lynnwood Fall Adult Softball Leagues is underway. Men’s, women’s and coed divisions are offered. The team fee is $420. Information: 425-771-4030.

ALDERWOOD HOOPS: Alderwood Hoops Club will be conducting player development/skills sessions for boys and girls from 3-7 p.m. Sundays at Lynnwood High School beginning in September. Sessions will focus on fundamentals and other aspects of the game to enhance the development of young players. Proceeds support the Edmonds School District student-athlete scholarship program. Alderwood Hoops Club is also conducting tryouts for boys teams Sept. 11-12 at Lynnwood High. SOFTBALL TRYOUT: The Shoreline Avalanche fastpitch team will be moving up to U16 for the 2005 season. The team is looking for dedicated athletes who want to increase their softball skill level and play competitively. All positions are open.

MAVERICKS HOOPS: The Mavericks, an eighth grade boys select basketball team, will be having tryouts for the upcoming season Sept. 13. The Mavericks won the Seattle AAU Winter League last season and finished with an overall record of 49-5. Information: 425-771-4087.

HI! 5 RUN: The Lynnwood Hi! 5 Community Run is set for Aug. 22. The event features a 10K certified run, 5K run, 3K walk and kids dash. No registration is required for the kids dash, which starts at 8:45 a.m. The 10K and 5K runs start at 9 a.m. and are followed by the 3K walk at 9:15.
