UMPIRES NEEDED: Richmond Little League is looking for a few good men and women willing to volunteer as umpires for the 2008 season. Prior experience helpful but not required. RICHMOND LITTLE LEAGUE REGISTRATION: Register online with Richmond Little League, www.richmondlittleleague.com, through Dec. 31 for T-ball, baseball and softball for boys and girls ages 5-and-up. After Dec. 31, it’s a $20 fee increase and team placement is “as available.” The boundaries are 145th St. to the south, I-5 to the east, 205th St. to the north and Puget Sound to the west. EDMONDS HOOPS: The city of Edmonds is running a 5-on-5 basketball league on Monday nights starting Jan. 7. Upper and lower divisions. Eight officiated games played at Edmonds Community College. PICKLE-BALL: An indoor pickle-ball league is scheduled for Tuesday nights at the Frances Anderson Center. Matches are played at 6:10, 6:40 and 7:10 p.m. Six matches with a single elimination tournament at the end of the season. Leagues will consist of men’s and women’s singles and mixed doubles. Fee is $20.

BASKETBALL OFFICIALS: The Snohomish County Boys and Girls Officials Basketball Associations are looking for individuals who would like to become basketball officials for Snohomish County school games. High school and junior high games run from November through April. Free training is provided. No experience necessary. ICE HOCKEY: Seattle Junior Hockey Association is registering for beginning players, ages 5-8. No experience required. There also are openings for players ages 5-8 who have played hockey before. Information: 425-672-7744.
