GIRLS HOOP TRYOUTS: BSI is holding a tryout for all high school girls interested in Traveling with a summer 2003 travel team at 5:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at Edmonds Community College. Information: 425-673-4876, or www.bsihoops.com

BASEBALL CLINIC: The Brooklyn Baseball Club offers two winter baseball clinics in January. A fielding and throwing clinic for ages 9-12 will be held on seven consecutive Saturdays starting Jan. 11. The fee is $125. A pitcher and hitting clinic for ages 10-18 will be held on seven consecutive Sundays starting on Jan. 12. Fees are $150 (hitting), $160 (pitching) and $260 (combination).
