Stallions whip Renton

Carlos Clark scored touchdowns on a punt return in the first quarter and a 12-yard reception in the third quarter to lead the Seattle Stallions to a 42-0 rout over the Renton Ravens, Saturday, July 12 at Foster High School.

The Stallions improved to 4-1 in the Northwest Football League North standings while Renton dropped to 0-5.

Seattle hosts the Washington Cavaliers (1-4) at 6 p.m. Saturday, July 19 at Ingraham High School.

Clark’s 41-yard punt return for a touchdown came at the 13:37 mark of the first quarter and gave the Stallions a 7-0 lead after Justin Miller’s extra point.

Chad Chappell added a 14-yard touchdown run later in the quarter but the two-point conversion run failed and the Stallions led 13-0.

Seattle’s Jeff Poke scored on a 9-yard scamper in the second quarter and Chappell ran in the two-point conversion to make it 21-0 at the half.

Seattle scored three second half touchdowns, a 12-yard pass play to Clark from quarterback Ken Jackson, a 9-yard run by Jackson and a 22-yard pass from Brad Collins to Chance Savage.

Seattle finished its night with 327 rushing yards and 97 passing yards.

The Stallions were led defensively by Grant Preston who made 11 tackles and had two sacks.
