A new program being offered by Sno-Isle Libraries encourages readers in the Stanwood and Camano Island area to read “The Last Town on Earth” by Thomas Mullen. The fictional story centers on a Pacific Northwest town that has decided to quarantine themselves as a way to protect against a massive virus pandemic threatening the outside world. The author will speak with the public and program participants Nov. 12, 7 p.m. at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center, 27108 102 Ave. NW in Stanwood.
