State awards: Why not mention all schools honored?

  • Tuesday, April 13, 2010 9:17pm

After reading the article “State honors for Cedar Wood” in the April 7 issue of The Enterprise, I was surprised by Melissa Slager’s lack of insight while reporting on the state’s recent awards.

It doesn’t seem like it would have taken a whole lot of time to discover that Mill Creek Elementary was also honored within that same list, recognized in two different areas (Language Arts and Overall Achievement).

I am a fan of recognizing schools for their efforts to achieve excellence and it seems like a reporter should review the entire list to make sure all local schools get their nod.
