Stevens Healthcare was honored Thursday, July 1 when U.S. Sen. Patty Murray presented the hospital with the Snohomish County Workforce Development Council award titled the “Senator Patty Murray Award for Workforce Training,” according to a press release.
The presentation took place at the Snohomish County Workforce Development Council “Celebrate Success” event at the Nile Golf &Country Club. Bob Lowy, vice president of Human Resources, Nancy Hamilton, Human Resources employment manager, Brian David, executive director of ancillary services and Jolene Waggoner, communications specialist, accepted the award on behalf of Stevens Healthcare. One example of Stevens Healthcare’s workforce training involves the H-1B Program, through which employees are provided tuition assistance to complete their schooling to become nurses and certified radiologic technologists, the release added. In addition, Stevens is offering tuition reimbursement and personalized services, including case management support, ensuring that participating employees receive the assistance they need to complete their academic programs while remaining employed.
