StoryBook Theater presents the musical comedy “Sleeping Beauty” in four performances Feb. 25 and 26.
In this musical version for both girls and boys, Princess Beauty may be a cutey, but being pretty doesn’t cut it when what she really wants to do is slay dragons and find adventure. Will Beauty get to be her very own hero — or will she be interrupted by a 100-year nap? And will the prince save her — or will she have to save him?
Kirkland based StoryBookTheater presents interactive musical comedies — specifically created for ages three through nine — but can be enjoyed by the entire family. Productions feature original scripts with adaptations by Lani Brockman and music and lyrics by Susan Bardsley. Shows are structured to engage and involve the audience — they are never scary, and each contains a lesson that children can take with them.
Performances of “Sleeping Beauty” take place at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, and 1 and 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26 at the Everett PUD Auditorium, located at 2320 California St., Everett. Tickets are $8 general, available by calling 877-827-1100 or at www.studio-east.org. An ASL interpreted performance is offered at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25.
