“Princess and the Pea,” the final production of the StoryBook Theater season, takes to the Everett PUD Auditorium stage for two weekends of performances in May.
As with all StoryBook productions, “Princess and the Pea” is an original musical comedy created specifically for very young audiences — ages 3 through 9 — and the whole family.
Will the Queen allow her son to marry the girl he loves, even if she’s not as pretty as the other princesses? And what defines a real princess? Beauty? Kindness? Courage? Or is it an aversion to little green vegetables? Find out in this story about big beds, pining princesses and petite peas.
StoryBook Theater is a production of Kirkland-based Studio East, Training for the Performing Arts. The original adaptations are written and directed by Lani Brockman, Artistic Director at Studio East. The music and lyrics are created by Kirkland musical artist, Susan Bardsley, who also serves as accompanist.
“Princess and the Pea” will be presented at the Everett PUD Auditorium on May 1, 8 and 9, with Saturday performances at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. and Sunday shows at 1 &3 p.m. The Everett PUD Auditorium is located at 2320 California St. in downtown Everett. All tickets are $7.50 available by calling Studio East toll free at 877-827-1100 or at the door one half hour before the show.
