Thirteen Seattle Skating Club ice skaters captured first-place honors at Ice Fest 2004 last week at OlympicView Ice Arena in Mountlake Terrace.
More than 250 skaters from the Pacific Northwest and Western United States took part in the Aug. 12-14 non-qualifying event, which many clubs are treating as a tune-up for a regional competition in October.
Samantha Boyle took first place in the level 1 girls free skating competition. Boyle also placed second in the level 1 girls artistic division. Andrew Golbienko won the novice men’s division and also was first in the free skating portion of the event. Golbienko was second in the short program.
Teammates Nicole McClellan and Jean Luc Baker finished first in the pre-juvenile dance event. The duo won both the first and second dance competitions. McClennan also took second in the pre-preliminary spins event.
Aimie Epoch captured the pre-juvenile girls compulsory moves and pre-juvenile spins divisions.
Other Seattle Skating Club winners were: Tara Wilson (basic B girls free skating), Jaidan Grayson (juvenile girls), Morgan Clark (juvenile girls compulsory moves), Mark Jahnke (pre-juvenile/open pre-juvenile boys compulsory moves), Katherine Norris (pre-preliminary girls group B), Kendall Jones (pre-preliminary spins), Janine Wei (open juvenile girls) and Brianna Burt (open juvenile spins).
Second-place finishers were: Maria Murphy (adult bronze ladies), Cameron Lee (basic B boys free skating), Jillian Jensen (basic C girls free skating), Trinity Hepper (basic D girls free skating), Serena Xu (basic D girls free skating), Morgan Clark (juvenile girls), Nicola Ang (juvenile girls compulsory moves, juvenile spins, pre-juvenile girls group A), Mark Jahnke (open pre-juvenile spins), Megan Lee and Ben Maki (pre-juvenile dance), Spencer Leigh Hallquist (pre-juvenile girls compulsory moves, pre-juvenile spins), Lisa Clair Greene (pre-juvenile girls group B), Ben Maki (pre-juvenile/open pre-juvenile boys compulsory), Danny Neudecker (preliminary boys), Sarendum Aleumu (preliminary girls compulsory moves), Savannah Hanby (preliminary girls group B), Kendall Jones (pre-preliminary girls compulsory moves), Olivia Olsen (senior ladies, senior ladies free skating program, novice pairs, novice pairs free skating and short programs), Jessica Brooks (level 5 girls free skating), Jennifer Hoock and Ben Maki (open dance), Brianna Burt (open juvenile girls).
