Edmonds School District’s Students of the Month for May.

Mountlake Terrace

Annie James

Clubs: DECA, Link Crew, Cheerleading, Honor Society Secretary, Rowdy Rooters

Honors: Valedictorian, Academic Letter Award, WESCO Academic Award, Presidential Award for Academic Excellence, Principals Scholar Award.

Awards: Edmonds Art Festival Jury Selected 2001, 2002, 2003. Edmonds Art Festival Honorable Mention 2002, DECA Area Competition 2nd place 2002, 3rd place 2003.

Community service: Volunteer for Project Linus (making quilts for sick kids) at Virginia Mason Medical Center.

Angie Tomson

Honors: MTHS American Citizenship Award (11th grade), WESCO Academic Achievement Award (12th grade), Most Inspirational-Golf (10 &11 grades), Most Inspirational-Soccer (12th), Golf Co-Captain (11th &12th) Most Inspirational-Concert Band (9th grade).

Clubs: Link Crew (senior year) ASB, WASC student delegate, Jr, Class Rep., Public Relations Officer (senior year).

Awards: MHS Athlete of the Month – October 2002; MHS Scholar Athlete Award – 2001-2002; WIAA Distinguished Scholastic Cross-Country Team Award; Golden Key Award for painting – 2003 Snohomish County Regional Scholastic Art Exhibit; Silver Medal for painting in 2002 Snohomish County Regional Scholastic Art Exhibit; Top Twenty in Edmonds Art Festival – 2002

Sports: Varsity Track – four years, (Captain 2003); Varsity Cross-Country, two years, (Captain 2002); 4 A First Team-All WESCO in Cross-Country 2003; Girls Basketball – Freshman (Captain 2000).

Community service: Volunteered at Meadowdale High Basketball Camp, Meadowdale High Track &Field Camp and Meadowdale Middle School Track &Field practice.

Community service: Camp counselor (2001), Dare Role model (2003), Sports Medicine internship hours – 250 plus hours (2001-2003).

Russell Brann

Awards: Received an award for computer animation.

Sports: football (four years) and golf.

Danielle Kish

Honors: IB &Honors classes including English, Spanish 7&8 and Advanced Physics.

Awards: Washington State Principal’s Scholar, Outstanding Achievement in US History, member of the National Honor Society.

Community service: Key Club member, vice president, treasurer; Junior class appointed officer; Link Crew leader, Warrior Camp Senior counselor, chair of Battle of the Bands (local charity rock concert) and chorus member.

Joe Sullivan

GPA: 3.72

Honors: IB program, two-year National Honor Society member.

Awards: Soccer – honorable mention, most improved, team advanced to state tournament; Football – honorable mention defensive end, most improved player.

Sports: Varsity football, soccer.

Community service: Week-long volunteer work party with the Washington Trails Association during summer 2002, hosted three WASC leadership attendees, Inter-high representative, Link Crew leader, homecoming co-chair.
