MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — The annual city wide garage sale and spring cleanup is coming soon.
Last year’s Spring Clean-Up Week allowed citizens to dispose of more than 280 tons of material, city officials said. In addition to sprucing up their own homes and yards residents are invited to lend a hand with the Third Annual Mountlake Terrace Clean-Up Day on May 3.
The clean-up day offers residents a chance to beautify their community through volunteerism. More than 100 volunteers attended last year’s event to assist the Parks Department in beautifying the city’s flower beds, trails, shrubbery and facilities. Contact Ken Courtmatch, the city’s Park Supervisor, at 425-776-1811 if you want to be a part of the Community Volunteer Clean-Up Day.
The city wide garage sale will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 2-4. There is no permit required and residents are asked to limit signs for their sale to two signs on your property and two signs off.
Then—with much of the stuff that doesn’t sell, can go to the curb for the city’s free unlimited trash pickup on May 7.
Spring cleanup is an opportunity for residents of Mountlake Terrace to have an extra garbage pick-up. In fact, residents can have unlimited quantities of garbage picked up free of charge.
