The North Sound Christian girls soccer team returns a well-rounded squad that is led by three returning senior starters.
Back for third-year coach Jennifer Fowler-Johnson are goalkeeper/defender Hannah Reymore, forward/midfielder Lyssa Sutton and midfielder/forward Alexandra Jenness.
The three are hoping to lead the Lions to the postseason after North Sound Christian lost a tiebreaker game that would have sent the Lions into the playoffs.
The Lions will be relatively young on offense with sophomores Mariah Hammond and Jenna Otis up front. The two may be young but they are talented.
“My players are pretty experienced,” Fowler-Johnson said. “At small schools the kids are used to playing multiple positions.”
The goalkeeper duties will be split between Reymore and sophomore Dorothy Johnson.
North Sound Christian starts league play this week with games scheduled against Friday Harbor and Concrete.
“We want to develop the teamwork and keep it flowing,” Fowler-Johnson said.
