Visitors to Snohomish County spent $881.7 million in 2007, a record-breaking year for this region, according to a report released by the Washington State Tourism Office. Visitor spending in the county was up over 7.1 percent or $58 million from the previous year. This contributed more than $64 million in state and local tax revenues. Direct visitor spending benefits retailers, restaurants, attractions, transportation services, hotels and other businesses, and provides employment for more than 9,600 people in Snohomish County.
