Taste of Thai is a great place for lunch for a reason the restaurant’s name hints at, but doesn’t overtly state — many tastes.
Daily lunch specials, which change every afternoon, offer diners a taste of two dishes, which is unusual at many Thai restaurants.
The Lynnwood destination offers lunch specials suited to mixing and matching. For eaters who like to try several new tastes at one sitting, without ordering multiple items, the menu, simply put, is a good idea.
Items vary from day to day, but diners can look for several foreign favorites, including panang curry, curry chicken, cashew chicken, red curry and swimming rama.
The first selection is served with a second choice of either phad thai or fried rice. To further complement the meal, white rice and emerald butterflies quickly turn the meal into a feast.
Emerald butterflies are won tons stuffed with crab meat, green onion, cream cheese and special seasonings. They are then deep-friend to a golden brown.
When dining at the locale, I opted for panang curry combined with phad thai. The phad thai, with chicken, eggs, onions and bean sprouts with freshly ground peanuts, was hard to surpass. The panang curry, with good amounts of chicken and bell peppers in curry with coconut milk, was spicy, yet mild enough to eat within the time constraints of a lunch hour.
Although the restaurant is located near a busy street, it is set back far enough from the roadway to promote relaxation. The only pressing matter diners may worry about is deciding what combination to order from the lunch special menu.
