The Shoreline School District and the teacher’s union have reached a tentative agreement regarding contract re-opening possibilities.
The negotiations are based “exclusively around monetary issues” and are linked to the state budget, Shoreline Education Association president Cheryl Ricevuto said, and “will not impact the start of school.”
Both parties declined further comment until the union’s scheduled voting date of Sept. 8 to ratify or decline the tentative agreement.
However, both union and district officials said they feel the tentative agreement is “reasonable.”
“The District appreciates the time and energy that each of the bargaining teams spent in reaching these tentative agreements,” said Marjorie Ledell, Executive Director of Community Relations &District Services.
