Veterinarians honored at 2008 award ceremonies

Several veterinarians were honored on Oct. 4 during The Washington State Veterinary Medical Association’s 97th annual convention in Spokane.

Bryan Hunter was named Veterinarian of the Year. Rick DeBowes, veterinary professor and associate dean for veterinary development and external relations at Washington State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine received the Distinguished Achievement Award. Patricia Talcott, veterinarian and toxicologist at the University of Idaho and WSU’s veterinary college, earned the WSU Faculty Member of the Year Award. Deb Cofer, a licensed veterinary technologist for Edmonds Veterinary Hospital, received the Distinguished Veterinary Staff Award. Banker Scott Harvey earned the Allied Industry Partner Award. Emily Pieracci, senior WSU veterinary student, was given the Student/Recent Graduate Award.

Meadow Hills Veterinary Center, Kennewick, received the President’s Award. David Roen, a retired Clarkston veterinarian and author, received the Media Award. Terry Teeple and Kathy Kube earned the Outstanding Service to the Veterinary Profession Award. For more infromation, visit www.wsvma.org.
