Village Theatre continues its 2005-2006 season with Ernest Thompson’s classic play “On Golden Pond,” opening Friday, March 3 at the Everett Performing Arts Center.

“On Golden Pond” is a poignant look at strength, compassion, and devotion of the human spirit. A retired New England professor and lovable curmudgeon, Norman Thayer, Jr., and his spirited wife, Ethel, decide to spend one final summer at their family’s lakeside cottage, after vacationing there for the past 44 years. However, this summer everything will change as new bonds are formed and relationships once lost are rekindled. Moving through these experiences, the characters learn that love, forgiveness, and understanding can heal and renew.

“On Golden Pond” features Tony-Award nominees Clayton Corzatte (“The School of Scandal”) and Jeanne Paulsen (“The Kentucky Cycles”) and the talents of Susan Corzatte, Eric Ray Anderson, Jim Gall (“To Kill a Mockingbird”, “Play It By Heart”), and Michael Moore (Village KIDSTAGE student).

“On Golden Pond” runs 8 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays, March 3 through 19 at the Everett Performing Arts Center, 2710 Wetmore Ave., Everett. Tickets are $20-$44, available by calling 425-257-8600 or at www.villagetheatre.org.
