Winter sports all-star teams announced

Archbishop Murphy junior Alyssa Smith earned most valuable player girls basketball recognition for the Cascade Conference. Smith helped lead the Wildcats to their first league title and a 14-0 regular season record in the league.

Archbishop Murphy coach John Barhanovich was named coach of the year. Sophomore Shelby Lyman was a first-team selection and sophomore Sammi Pettinger was named to the second team.

In boys basketball, junior J.D. Melton earned second-team recognition. Melton and the boys basketball advanced to the Class 2A state tournament.
