LYNNWOOD — An Edmonds woman was hit by a flat bed truck while trying to cross 168th Street in Lynnwood early Nov. 30.
Lynnwood paramedics responded and transported the 51-year-old woman to Stevens Hospital with a fractured leg, said Lynnwood fire department’s Assistant Chief of operations Tod Gates.
According to Lynnwood police Officer Wayne Davis, the woman, 48, was in the crosswalk when the Marysville man turned left and didn’t see her in the crosswalk.
The man, an employee of City Wide Fence, Davis said, was turning out of the business in the 4800 block driving one of its dual tire trucks at about 7:10 a.m.. He waited for traffic to clear and then made his turn, hitting the woman on the driver’s side corner.
“There was no speed, no alcohol, he just didn’t see her and she didn’t see him coming,” Davis said. He added, it was dark and the streets were wet, but it wasn’t raining.
The man was cited for not yielding to a pedestrian in a crosswalk.
