Karolyn Grimes, the former child actress who portrayed Zuzu in the classic holiday film, “It’s a Wonderful Life,” autographs copies of Christopher Brunell’s book, “Zuzu’s Wonderful Life in Movies” at the Lynnwood Barnes &Noble at 7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22.
In “Zuzu’s Wonderful Life in Movies” Grimes recounts some of her experiences as a child performing in films that included “The Bishops’ Wife” with Cary Grant and “Rio Grande” with John Wayne. But the role she is best known for is Zuzu in Frank Capra’s 1946 film “It’s a Wonderful Life.” As the youngest daughter of George Bailey (Jimmy Stewart), she delivered the film’s final line, “Look, daddy, teacher says, ‘Every time a bell rings, an angel gets his wings?’”
From 1944 to 1952 Grimes appeared in over 16 movies that are chronicled in this book, accompanied by more than 140 photos from her Hollywood career.
