Would-be car thief stopped by bushes

The following are selected reports from the Edmonds Police Department’s police blotter:

Feb. 17

Theft. 7000 block of 165th Pl. SW. Complainant reported that someone stole her cell phone and portable DVD player during a party over the weekend.

Feb. 16

Vehicle prowl. 18400 block of 73rd Ave. W. Car prowl. No theft.

Theft. 8500 block of Maplewood Lane. Wallet and iPod stolen out of unsecured vehicle.

Auto theft. 7900 block of 236th St. SW. Neighbor reports suspects stealing a motorcycle from an apartment parking lot.

Feb. 15

Theft. 21600 block of 80th Ave. W. 911 call for suspicious circumstances results in adult male being arrested for minor in possession. An investigation and charge for theft, too.

Burglary. 20300 block of 81st Ave. W. Resident reports items stolen from his shed.

Feb. 14

Auto theft. 600 block of 3rd Ave. N. Unknown suspect(s) force entry into a vehicle, and attempt theft by rolling it out of the driveway. Vehicle got stuck in bushes and caused minor damage.

Assault. 200 block of Main St. Adult male arrested for assault and malicious mischief after assaulting female and breaking windows at the post office.
