Yost Pool’s 2008 opening has been delayed.
A mechanical failure at Edmonds’ outdoor pool will push opening day from the traditional Memorial Day — Monday, May 26 — to the end of the week, Friday, May 30, city officials said.
The problem is with the pool’s main circulation pump, said Rich Lindsay, parks maintenance manager. The pump failed recently, despite a 2007 evaluation which indicated it could last another three or four years, Lindsay said.
A new $5,000 to $10,000 pump should be installed soon, Lindsay said.
