Edmonds residents Ernest and Jacqueline Ziegler recently celebrated their 60th anniversary with a family picnic.
The couple weres married June 17, 1949 in Seattle at the Greenwood Presbyterian Church where Jackie was a Sunday school teacher. They met at Fort Lawton in March 1949 while Ernie was completing his armed forces commitment and were married two days after he “mustard” out.
The Zieglers lived in Garden City, Mich. for the first 28 years of their marriage, where Ernie worked for Ford Motor Company.
Returning to Washington and settling in Edmonds in 1984, where he ran JJ’s Pub and Custom Engraving. Jackie worked at Seattle City Light before “retiring” to raise the family.
The couple has five children and six grandchildren.
