Concerts: The Hold Steady, Vampire Weekend, Brian McKnight

Posted at 8:59 am

I haven't seen a ton of notable shows going on sale this week; I'll update this round-up later with bigger names if any catch my eye.

That said, I don't think I ever mentioned the Capitol Hill Block Party. Tickets are still available for the two-day Seattle block party, which is attracting some pretty great bands.

If you're torn between the two nights, I'd encourage you to get Saturday tickets. While I like Vampire Weekend, who headline Friday night, it's hard to top Saturday's lineup, which includes DeVotchKa, the Hold Steady, Fleet Foxes and Kimya Dawson.

OK - on to other shows. Or show, in this case:

  • Brian McKnight, at Emerald Queen Casino, Tacoma, presale from noon Thursday to 9 a.m. Saturday, $30 to $60. Sorry, I don't have a password for this. Tickets for the Oct. 4 show on sale to the general public at 10 a.m. Saturday.

  • Did I miss something good? Or do you have the presale password for Mr. McKnight? Let the people know by posting a comment below.
