Turnovers costly for Lakewood against Blaine

BLAINE – Matt Timothy had 27 carries for 157 yards and three touchdowns to lead Blaine past Lakewood in a North Cascades football game Friday.

Lakewood’s Kris Kazen had 22 carries for 208 yards and a touchdown, but it wasn’t enough. The Cougars lost four fumbles, which proved to be the difference.

“Blaine is a good team and we couldn’t overcome the four turnovers,” Lakewood coach Jay Adams said.

Turnovers also cost Lakewood in a loss to Lynden Christian last week. “It was a carbon copy of last week’s game,” Adams said.
