EVERETT — Private businesses and public agencies are coming together to present the first Snohomish County Homeownership Fair next weekend.

The free event will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. June 2 at Everett Community College’s Jackson Center and Parks Student Union Building. The campus is in the 2000 block of Tower Street in Everett.

The fair will feature information booths staffed by lenders, real estate agents, nonprofit housing agencies, community groups, local and state housing agencies, builders, developers, home inspectors, appraisers and title, escrow and insurance companies.

There will be a series of informal panels during the day on how-to topics such as budgeting, affordable mortgages, mortgage credit, down-payment assistance and home repair.

Information will be available in other languages for those who don’t speak English.

The Herald is one of the sponsors of the event. Other sponsors include United Way, the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development, Fannie Mae, Snohomish County, the city of Everett and the Independent Brokers Association.
