Military personnel deserve fine site

What a nice column by Kristi O’Harran (“Exclusive campground for a select few,” July 20). Having lived in this area all my life, I can recall the pristine area at Twin Lakes on the Jim Creek Navy base in the 1950s. The area is still preserved as it was then due to
The diligent effort of the U.S. Navy. This campground rightly belongs to our members of the military for retreats for service personnel who have been separated from their families while deployed overseas. This campground is well deserved by them for their dedication to our freedom and safety while serving us at low wages and less than average living standards. I applaud the U.S. Navy for being a responsible steward of this beautiful place in our area.
