C’mon Herald, admit your left-wing bias

Published 9:00 pm Friday, August 31, 2001

Shame, shame – here we go again. It’s a daily event – The Herald doing its duty as mouthpiece for left-wing interests, and pretending to be a “news” paper. Take the Aug. 25 paper for instance. The Associated Press tells the American people that it is OK to give your kid an “occasional swat.” What incredible arrogance! More incredible, our little newspaper prints it! Then (and this is really on-going), the AP sends in a picture that shows G.W. Bush with a goofy look on his face, and The Herald prints it. On page A4, the AP has a flattering picture of Democrat Gary Condit, and The Herald prints this picture.

This all seems so foolish. How many people in Snohomish County are going to be persuaded that Gary Condit is a nicer guy than George Bush? Give us a break!

I think at this point, The Herald would gain a little respect for itself if it just admitted, in an editorial, its dedication to left-wing advocacy, just to rescue a little credibility from the jaws of left-wing idiocy.
