Private businesses could solve problem

Published 9:00 pm Sunday, November 18, 2001

In response to the Nov. 3 letter to the editor titled, “We care more about salmon then children,” written by Lisa Kramlich in Lake Stevens: As an employee of the “system” as you called it, how much money was left over after your wages?

Before pointing the finger at salmon look at the facts. The same “system” is at work. After getting the appropriate managers in place to manage the salmon issue there is no money left to actually improve water quality. Had the system allowed private businesses like ours to solve water quality problems 10 years ago, salmon wouldn’t be competing with our children for public dollars.
